The ministry of Watchman Nee and Witness Lee has helped me over the years in many ways and through many experiences, to know Him. Though I was saved at an early age, the Lord Jesus was for the most part objective to me. I had heard the gospel, the facts of His incarnation, death, and resurrection, and had even received Him, but I did not know Him as a person. I merely knew about the Lord, but I did not know Him as the Apostle Paul did in the way of experience. Reading books written by Watchman Nee and Witness Lee enabled me to enter into the experience of Christ as life according to the truth in the Bible.
As I have grown in the Christian life, sometimes I have passed through certain experiences without understanding the significance of what was going on. Later, in reading publications by Watchman Nee and Witness Lee, I would come across passages that exactly described my experience and feeling during those situations. They gave utterance to what was within me and pointed me down the path of normal growth in the divine life. The more I know the Bible from repeated readings and verse memorization, the more there is always a confirming “Amen” in the deepest part of my being whenever I read the writings of Watchman Nee and Witness Lee. They cut straight the word of the truth (2 Timothy 2:15) and present a clear picture of God and His heart's desire (Ephesians 1:5, 9) by bringing together relevant portions of the Bible. Now whenever I come to the Bible with the proper view afforded by their writings, the Lord is able to shine on His Word, enlarging my vision of Himself and His move through His believers on the earth.
